In the Shadows of Silence – Memory and Violence

This  is a collaborative project by Biswajit Thakuria and Dixita Deka, as part of the 'Bare Acts’ a group exhibition in New Delhi, curated by Arushi Vats at Prameya Art Foundation in 2023-24. Our project explores the impact of state violence in late 90s Assam. Inspired by Arushi's focus on examining law's political, procedural, and embodied aspects, we delve into fragmented constitutionalism. We aim to connect with families who suffered during that time, exploring both their reluctance to remember and be remembered. Additionally, we revisit the site to understand what remains in the landscape after all these years.
