Memory and Mourning
This is project an another collaboration with Dixita Deka. The book is introduced by Dixita Deka at SASC, Yale MacMillan Center on February 13, 2025.
The book traces the healing journey of a family that could never recover the body of their son and brother, Babli, who disappeared during the counter-insurgency operations in Assam. Dipika Das, one of the book’s collaborators, is Babli’s sister. A sister who has relentlessly tried to keep the memories of her brother alive, against any social, political, and legal erasure.
